Miri Miri Miri miri is the traditional holistic healing tradition or massage technique of Maori, the indigenous people of Aotearoa / New Zealand.  Miri miri is steeped in Maori customs and culture, encompassing whanau ora (family health), tinana ora (physical health), hinengaro ora (mental health), and wairua ora (spiritual health).  Maori culture is thought to have originated from the Pacific Ocean, with links to languages from both Tahitian and Hawaiian cultures, and is associated and inspired by nature.  Miri miri is a holistic tradition used for healing the physical, emotional and spiritual elements of ourselves, as opposed to Western traditions, which primarily focus on the physical. Bellydance is an expressive, dynamic art form that requires a special kind of mastery that relies on intuitive awareness, movement, balance and spatial geometry. Although dance presents itself as a physical art, it brings out emotive response through the body’s articulation of the music. On an emotional level it is liberating, uplifting and helps the dancer experience instinctive rhythmic patterns and feelings. Since its days as an ancient fertility rite, Bellydancing directly supports sexual and sensual function of a woman’s body.
